Where’s the Fun Animation Studio Creates ‘Modi Fly’ inspired by ‘Flappy Bird’

If you are missing Flappy Bird that was recently pulled down from Google Play Store by its creator Dong Nyugen, then here’s ‘Modi Fly’, a free to play app that was created in 48 hours time by Bangalore Based where’s the Fun Animation Studio.

The team members at Where’s the Fun have around 9 years experience in Animation Industry and they are Suhas N, CEO of the studio, Janmajaya Mohanty: Technical Director , Programmer, Aneesh B S: Creative ,  Art Director and Anand U S: Animation Director.

The very first game of this studio was “BalleBalle Ride” which is gained good response in Indian and Chinese markets.

Speaking to AnimationXpress.com about the idea behind creating Modi Fly, Suhas, says, “We never got a chance to play Flappy Bird, and so we created our own version for which Narendra Modi was our first choice as we all are big fans of him.”

Simple one touch controls are seen in this game in which you need to navigate cartoony character of Narendra Modi by tapping on the screen, make him fly and save him to crash from obstacles. You can tap anywhere on the screen to fly higher.

The animation of this game is based on paper cut outs and entire game is created using Unity3D free version, blender and Inkscape. For testing ‘Modi Fly’, it was first released in alpha mode and tested by the team and friends.

“We were always fascinated by the simplicity and appeal of paper cutouts and thought it was a good idea to use it for this particular game.” Adds more

The studio wanted this game to be a blend of challenge and fun, “In the beginning it was too difficult to play especially for the kids. So we had to tone it down. We are still getting feedbacks and we shall be tweaking it for our next update. “, informs more

Where’s the Fun is currently working on releasing BalleBalle Ride and Modi Fly on iOS and Windows platforms.
