The 15th Edition of FICCI FRAMES with Australia as this year’s Partner Cou
ntry is set from 12-14 March and has unveiled the Nominees of FICCI Best Animated Frames [BAF] Awards 2014 that will be held on the first day of this Conference at Hotel Renaissance Mumbai Convention Centre.
This year’s BAF edition had called in submissions under International and Indian competition formats and introduced Gaming vertical as a new add on to the category list.
Some of the Indian Animation, VFX and Gaming studios that have bagged nominations in various categories are Ubisoft Entertainment Pune, Prime Focus, Animagic Special Effects, Toonz Animation India, Studio Eeksaurus, Aura Cinematics, Spellbound Productions, Magic N Colors, Future Works Media, Vertex Volt, Dumadu Games.
In the VFX in a Motion Picture [Indian] Category, Visual Computing Labs – Tata Elxsi Ltd ‘Dhoom 3’, Redchillies.vfx ‘Krrish 3’ and Reliance Media Works ‘Kadal’ are competing with each other.

National Institute of Design, College of Amravati, Industrial Design Centre, IIT Bombay, AJK Mass Communication Research Centre, DSK Supinfocom International Campus have bagged nominations for their shorts in Indian Student Category of Animated Short Film.

Coming to Mobile and Tablet Game [Touch Screen] [Indian] Category has named Janmajaya Mohanty’ BalleBalle Ride, Disney UTV: Hitout Heroes , Spiel Studios Pvt. Ltd. Galaxy Run , Nextwave Multimedia Pvt Ltd ,Race with Words and 99 Games Online Private Limited ,Dhoom 3: The Game.

Awards ceremony will start from 6 30 PM IST, post ‘The FICCI INK Salon’ panel discussion with innovative people working on projects that can have a strong social impact, which will be moderated by Lakshmi Pratury, Curator, INK Conference and panelists will be Roger Fisk, PR Expert, President Obama’s Campaign , Shilo Shiv Suleman, Artist, Vicky Roy, Photographer , Shankar Tucker, Musician.
